Long sentences

Mommy come pick Jeremy up from Auntie Adele house. Jeremy say thank you to Aizat. Jeremy put head on a pillow and eat medicine.

Those were some of the long sentences that Jeremy has been forming. Amazing what a difference one year make. A year ago, the only word that he could say was 'nenen'. The rest was just babbling.

Ouchie lolou, see doctor

I've started to get Jeremy to go to sleep without nursing now. I do let give him 10 minutes to nurse. It's up to him to use that 10 minutes however he likes. Once the time has passed, I don't even let him nurse. I explained to him that he has to go to sleep first. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, he can nurse. That's acceptable to him.

Oh, he went to bed wearing a watch until morning. I didn't dare take it off lest he wakes up in the middle of the night looking for it. It's not actually a watch, but a device that was supposed to alleviate motion sickness. It belongs to his father. He also went to sleep with two car stickers in his hands.

This morning Aunt Tracy gave him a shower while I was getting ready in the bedroom. When he was done, he told me 'ouchie lolou'. I checked on his lolou, it didn't seem to be infected. I asked him if he wanted to go see the doctor, he said 'go see doctor'. I told him that Mommy will bring him to see the doctor in the evening but he insisted to see the doctor first before go to Aunt Adele's house.

I asked him if anyone hurt his lolou. He said 'no'. I asked him who pinch his lolou, he said 'jeremy'. I asked if kakak pinch his lolou, he said 'no'. I asked if Aunt Adele pinch his lolou, he said 'no'. Hmmm.

I did call the clinic at 8am to find out what time the earliest available appointment is. I was told at 10.30am. Jeremy doesn't seem to be in pain, so I took the 6pm appointment. I did explain to Jeremy why we can't go see Dr Terry first thing before going to play school. He was upset at first but I managed to get him to understand. I told him Dr Terry is busy and she can only see Jeremy in the evening.

Now that he doesn't cry at the play school, he doesn't want me to take the towel from the bag anymore. Before he put his bag into the changing room, I took the towel out. When he came back for his hugs and kisses, he told me to put the towel back into the bag. I asked him to put it back himself. He took the towel from me and went to the changing room. Not long after he called me to help him. So, I went in to help him.

I went back to the front door and knelt down to hug him. He asked me to put on my shoes properly first. Hahaha. Everything has to be proper with him. He even has to tweak the way I put his shoes on the shelf before I bring him to the front door. Our little Adrian Monk.

I explained to the helper that Jeremy was complaining about his lolou. I asked her to keep a watch on him.

Clever boy

His father told me on Monday night that he had a talk with him about learning at the play school. When he asked Jeremy if he is learning to read and write, Jeremy answered 'no, wait for mommy to pick jeremy'. So, his father asked him if he wants to be a clever boy. Jeremy said 'yes'. His father told him that if he wants to be a clever boy, he has to learn to read and write with Aunt Adele.

He still doesn't want to learn to read and write. When I asked him if he learnt to read and write, he said 'no, wait for mommy'. Hmmm. How to get him to learn to read and write? We'll just continue to give him pep talks.

Last night his father had a talk with him again about the same matter. According to his father, Jeremy answered himself that he has to read and write to be clever. Hahaha. One thing knowing what he needs to do to be clever. But another matter getting him to do it.

On the way home yesterday, he asked me 'nana?'. I told him Nana went home already and we will see Nana this weekend on the computer. He said 'no, no see Nana on computer'. So I told him we will see Nana very soon. He misses his Nana.

He's much better being left at the play school now. As long as I wait for him to keep his bag and we give each other hugs and kisses. No more crying. He would happily take his towel from me and leave me at the front door.
